Emporia State University is seeking a full-time Equipment Operator to join our Landscaping team located in Emporia, KS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and maintain gardens
Apply mulch, fertilizer, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides to garden areas
Manage container plantings, annual display beds, and specialty gardens
Trim shrubs, plant grass, and clean up leaves
Operate mowers, weed eaters, skid loaders, and other landscaping equipment
Serve as part of the snow/ice team during the winter

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED,
A valid driver’s license
One year of experience related to landscaping or operating similar equipment
Ability to lift or maneuver 75-100 pounds
Standing or walking for 7 or more hours per shift
Movements that require manual dexterity, trunk strength, wrist-finger movement, twisting, bending, pushing, and pulling.

COMPENSATION:

Salary: $16.25 hourly
