JOB SUMMARY
This position is a functional lead responsible for the creation, oversight, and implementation of the university’s grant-funded Opioid & Stimulants Prevention Program. The grant is funded for 3-years.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Responsible for the creation of the educational tools necessary to train faculty, staff, and students about opioid and stimulant misuse.
- Connect faculty, staff, and students to suicide prevention education and resources.
- Leads campus activities and initiatives in coordination with ODMHSAS prevention and treatment service providers and local agencies.
- Leads the creation of five primary prevention strategies then ensure implementation across campus:
Community-based prevention processes
Environmental prevention strategies
Information dissemination
Prevention Education
Problem Identification and Referral
- Responsible for the development and delivery of trainings in accordance with grant requirements.
- Leads and conducts the assessment activities in accordance with grant requirements.
- Leads and conducts regular coalition meetings (min 9 per year) in accordance with grant guidelines.
- Actively participates in the State Higher Education Prevention Services Collaborative Action Group with the goal to improve state wide services.
- Responsible for developing appropriate statewide and local partnerships relevant to the priority issues as required by the grant.
- Follow all grant planning and implementation guidelines
- Follow all grant evaluation and reporting requirements
- Perform related duties as assigned.

COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
- The work consists of varied programmatic duties.
- The purpose of this position is to lead the creation, oversight and implementation, of the university’s grant-funded Opioid and Stimulants Prevention Grant. Success in this position contributes to state prevention and treatment efforts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and utilizes the sense of smell.
- The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
- Travel is required to achieve the objectives of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a master’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in education, prevention, or related field.
- Adequate knowledge of postsecondary education, drugs and prevention, program administration, and assessment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with community agencies, develop partnerships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in using Windows, Microsoft Office, and specialized database software
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
