Overview: Reporting to the Training Supervisor, the Community Wellness Instructor will be responsible for the following: To instruct/facilitate agency trainings including Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT), Collaborative Problem Solving, Mental Health Awareness, Motivational Interviewing, and other related trainings for employees, foster families and other interested parties working with at-risk children, youth, and adults. Key Responsibilities:
Keeping abreast of training needs to identify skill gaps and training priorities within the organization.
Developing and maintaining in-house training materials, including presentations, handouts, and interactive activities. Becoming certified trainer and providing evidence-based training, as trained.
Delivering training sessions to employees and the community at-large on a variety of topics, including leadership development, technical skills training, and compliance training.
Conduct administrative duties such as scheduling, calling, emailing, documenting, tracking and recording attendance.
Collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and up-to-date.
Providing one-on-one coaching and support (field training) to employees who require additional assistance with training materials.
Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in training and development.
Communicating with agency leaders and partners to ensure training programs align with organizational goals and objectives, and community interest and need.
Administering and tracking training attendance and completion records.
Assisting in the development of a training calendar.
Position requires travel across the US and between Lake, Mendocino and Humboldt Counties.
Education and/or Experience: Preferred: Associate's Degree with 2+ years of experience in a mental health setting or 4+ years of experience in a mental health setting.
Conditions of Employment:
Must possess a valid CA Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a clean DMV printout (no more than 3 points).
Must pass a clear background check with CACI, DOJ & FBI.
CPR and First Aid Certified. Training provided during New Hire Orientation
TB Exam and Physical at the time of employment.
Training Provided:
RCS provides an in-depth onboarding and training orientation, which includes CPR/First Aid, Crisis Communication/Pro-ACT, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Collaborative Problem Solving, introductions to all RCS departments, and other valuable trainings.
