Communications Technician (Undergound)

We currently have an exciting opportunity at our Pogo operation for an experienced and motivated Communications Technician on a 3 week on / 3 week off roster.
WHAT WE OFFER
The Communications Technician reports to the Communications Supervisor, and the primary role is to be responsible for the installation, maintenance and fault finding of the communications infrastructure both underground and on the surface within the Mining, Processing and Maintenance Departments. This position is required to be on call on a regular basis outside of normal working hours.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Working a 21 days on, 21 days off up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.
Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, internet & cable tv programs. Cell service is available when using Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Significant experience with mining communication hardware and software applications, including but not limited to VHF and UHF Systems, IP Networking, Digital and Analog 2-way Radio Systems, Microwave and/or Point-to-Point/Multi-point Data-Radio Systems. Experience in troubleshooting complex electronic circuits.
- Mining Industry experience a plus.
- Skill and ability to terminate, Cat5, RJ11, Coax, Fiber (Fuse on Connectors) and D-Shell connectors.
- Ability to work unsupervised and display good problem solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Current drivers' license.
- Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check
