** UP TO A $7,500 SIGN ON BONUS** General Information: Job title: Circulating Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Rooms Schedules Available: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period or regular scheduled time; on-call required Weekend rotation: Rotated on-call schedule Holiday rotation: Rotated on-call schedule Position Summary: The Circulating Registered Nurse position works in our progressive and fast paced surgery department, with a primary emphasis of duty that involves the management of the patient care in the operative setting and immediate post-surgery recovery. The Circulating Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering optimal service to patients, surgeons, and physicians. Position Responsibilities:
Performs a focused patient assessment.
Implements surgical fires prevention measures prior to operative procedure.
Follows principles of Infection Prevention in the OR.
Ensures patient safety throughout the surgical procedure.
Monitors and controls the surgical environment.
Demonstrates knowledge of Nursing Responsibilities during anesthesia administration.
Positions patients for designated surgical procedure.
Applies evidence-based guidelines to maintain normothemia preoperatively.
Performs accurate intra-operative sponge, sharps and instrument counts.
Follows facility protocol for surgical site verification.
Performs a surgical skin prep. Performs a thime-out before the surgical procedure.
Demonstrates use of principles of asceptic technique.
Demonstrates safe handling and administration of perioperative medication.
Implements activities to assist in surgery emergency situations.
Admits and provides care to the patient in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
Performs pain management interventions for surgical patients.
Completes follow-up phone call and PT post discharge.
Assists in reviewing and revising policies and procedures.
Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
Attends department meetings/in-service and mandatory hospital in-service.
Position Requirements:
Two-year degree in nursing required. BSN preferred.
Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Registered Nursing license. RNs with an active Compact Licensure are to obtain a Wisconsin RN license within 90 days of start date.
BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.
ACLS certification required or obtained within 12 months of hire.
PALS certification recommended.
1+ years related work experience preferred.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
Excellent clinical skills and problem-solving skills required.
Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
