General Information: Job title: Clinical Nurse Educator Schedules Available: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm (May vary based on need) Weekend rotation: No weekends Holiday rotation: Paid Time Off for Holidays Position Summary: The Clinical Nurse Educator position is responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education as requested by directors. This position will facilitate, precept, and mentor staff and team members to grow professionally and advance their competency with knowledge and skills. Position Responsibilities:
Demonstrates an understanding of regulatory requirements and professional practice guidelines.
Presents a working knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
Remain knowledgeable of evidence-based practice and skills for multiple areas of expertise.
Participate in interdepartment and hospital quality and performance improvement activities.
Proactively round with director and team members in the departments and identify opportunities for improvement.
Monitor utilization of equipment and supplies.
Assist in evaluating the competency of staff and ensuring that mandatory education is complete.
Collaborate with clinical education planning and evaluation of nursing staff.
Promote, facilitate, and provide education about new practice changes, regulatory requirements, new equipment and skills to team members on the unites.
Lead Emergency Response Committee meetings
Attends ongoing educational training courses offered as required for the position for education and emergency management including Haz Mat
Instructor for ACLS and PALS courses.
Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
Two-year degree in nursing required. Four-year degree in nursing preferred.
Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.
Current BLS certification.
ACLS, PALS, NRP, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
4+ years patient care experience unless determined to be prepared for advancement by director.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Expert proficiency with computers is required.
Excellent clinical skills and problem-solving skills required
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize effectively with staff, patients, and public.
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to keep patient information confidential.
Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with individuals and groups.
