Summary/Objectives
The Assistant Plant Manager assists the Plant Manager with daily plant operations to include all pre and post-production related activities. The Assistant Plant Manager initiates plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital. The Assistant Plant Manager assures attainment of production objectives and schedules while maintaining product standards that will exceed our customers expectations.
Corsicana Mattress is a high-volume mattress manufacturing company. We have a variety of machinery including but not limited to: sewing machines, packing machines, high speed quilters, and foam cutting equipment.
Essential Functions
  • Proven track record of academic and professional excellence.
  • Communicate daily operations to Plant Manager.
  • Strong PC skills and the ability to navigate within the Corsicana Mattress systems are critical.
  • Working knowledge of relevant software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to understand and accurately apply basic math skills.
  • Understanding of internal controls.
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and organize; good time management skills.
  • Ability to retain information (e.g., policies, procedures) or find it as needed.
  • Problem solving ability.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to operate under pressure of deadlines.

Competencies
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Preferred. Minimum of Associates Degree from a two year college or technical school or 3-5 years of experience in Production or Manufacturing Supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record of leadership in a progressive manufacturing management role.
  • Ability to enforce company and plant rules consistently and in a uniform manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Work Environment
The employee will generally be housed in a non-climate-controlled environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
