Kentucky State Police is the premier, full-service law enforcement agency in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Kentucky State Police Apprenticeship Program is designed to recruit individuals interested in becoming a Kentucky State Police Trooper upon turning twenty-one (21) years of age and to provide hands on experience and education in the law enforcement and public safety career fields. The Police Administration Apprentice I- telecommunication or CVE inspector concentration is twenty-nine hundred (2900) hours in duration with six hundred (600) additional hours of job shadowing, in the areas of criminal justice programs and records, investigative, forensic sciences, administration and a Telecommunication/CVE inspection overview. Upon successful completion, the apprentice is eligible to apply for the Kentucky State Police Academy, gaining Trooper Applicant Point System (TAPS) points, or transition into permanent full-time employment with the department. Apprenticeship graduates are considered novices in their chosen concentration.
Key Responsibilities:
