We are seeking a highly motivated AMHS Dispatcher to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting the operations of our Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS).
Our Dispatchers work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. They are responsible for scheduling and dispatching licensed and unlicensed employees on our vessels, assisting staff with various questions, and will serve as a resource for collective bargaining agreements.

The working environment you can expect:
This is a shoreside office position. If filled in Ketchikan, the position will be located at the AMHS Headquarters, 7037 North Tongass Highway in Ketchikan.
Southeast Alaska is a land of snow-capped mountains, the Pacific Ocean, and the largest national forest in the United States (Tongass). Old-growth trees in a temperate rain forest create clean air and clean water, as well as many opportunities for adventure. The local trails offer endless choices for getting into the woods or climbing mountains. Water-lovers enjoy ocean boating, diving, paddle boarding, and even surfing. There are rivers for white-water rafting and lakes, ocean and rivers for fishing. Locals and visitors avail themselves of the many cabins and camping options in and around Juneau. Winter brings a host of nordic and back country skiing possibilities. Southeast Alaska has an amazing array of cultural opportunities. Folk Festivals, Jazz and Classics, and Symphony bring a variety of world-class music every year. There are museums, professional theaters, and many art galleries. All of these things contribute to a quality of life that is highly prized by those who live in Southeast Alaska.
