We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Allied Health Externship Coordinator. The Extern Coordinator will work closely with our team to gain practical knowledge and skills in Allied Health.
Externship Program Development:
Collaborate with faculty and industry professionals to design and develop externship programs that align with the school's curriculum and provide valuable learning experiences.
Research and identify potential externship sites and partners in various industries relevant to the school's programs.
Placement and Coordination:
Match students with appropriate externship opportunities based on their program of study, skills, and career goals.
Communicate with students to prepare them for their externships, including resume building, interview coaching, and workplace etiquette training.
Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses and organizations to secure externship placements.
Monitoring and Support:
Regularly check in with students during their externship to assess their progress, offer support, and address any issues that may arise.
Work closely with externship supervisors at externship sites to ensure that students are meeting learning objectives.
Evaluation and Reporting:
Collect feedback from students, externship supervisors, and faculty to evaluate the effectiveness of the externship program.
Generate reports and data analysis to assess program outcomes and make recommendations for improvements.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure that all externship activities comply with school policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
Maintain accurate records of student placements, agreements, and evaluations.
Networking and Outreach:
Attend industry-related events, conferences, and job fairs to establish and expand the school's network of externship partners.
Promote the school's externship program to prospective students and industry professionals.
Participate in and at the direction of Director of Career Services, help organize Program Advisory Committee meetings.
Qualifications:
At least three (3) years of experience in the Allied Health field (medical assistant, lab assistance or similar field)
Post secondary certificate/diploma (Associate degree preferred).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with industry professionals.
Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
Familiarity with vocational education and workforce development.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
