Job Description:

ALLIED HEALTH INSTRUCTOR

DEPARTMENT: Allied Health

POSITION TITLE: Allied Health Instructor

SUPERVISOR: Dean, College of Health and Human Services

PURPOSE: The Allied Health Instructor is responsible for teaching classes in the area of Healthcare Administration, Radiologic Technology, and related Health Sciences. This role will also assist in program reviews and develop to ensure delivery of a quality education ensure students are prepared when they graduate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Teach 15 hours each fall and spring semester.
Organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, curriculum planning and development, and working with the other program faculty.
Engage in documented continuing professional development as required for certification and or licensure.
Have regular and consistent contact with students and program faculty promoting professional development and teaching excellence.
Engage actively and successfully with the health care community.
Develop and assist with the supervision of student internships/practicums.
Develop and teach online courses.
Advise students enrolled in degree programs offered by the Department of Allied Health as needed.
Participate in departmental meetings, discipline advisory committee meetings and other departmental activities as needed.
Assist with student organizations sponsored by the Department of Allied Health.
Assists with academic program review, recruitment and retention of students, as well as strategic planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements:

Masters in Healthcare Administration or Masters in Business Administration
Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology
Current Certification in Radiologic Technologist

Preferred:

1 year teaching experience

HOURS: 9-month teaching position
