As the Admissions Recruiter you will conduct effective recruitment of prospective students for the College of Science at the Purdue University in Indianapolis campus. This position collaborates with department and college-level personnel to boost program awareness, locate prospective students, generate interest, and enroll the number and quality of students needed to meet enrollment objectives. As the primary representative for prospective students seeking a degree in College of Science majors, the recruiter must possess specific knowledge of the degree programs and a superior understanding of the target audiences for which the programs are designed.
You will be responsible for building and executing a plan to provide concierge-level service to potential students and their families. You will be readily available to answer questions from prospective students via email and phone. When an in-person campus visit is desired, this individual will ensure all needs are met for the students and their families.
This position will be located at the Purdue University Indianapolis campus.

Education and Experience Needed:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
- Two (2) years of experience in the same or similar role, including student services, academic advising, or student recruiting
- Experience developing and coordinating programs
- A general knowledge of customer service best-practices
Preferred:
- Previous experience working with diverse populations in secondary school or higher education
Skills Needed:
- Must possess specific knowledge of the degree programs and a superior understanding of the target audiences for which the programs are designed
- Outstanding communication skills for oral, presentation, written, group and individual audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with prospective students and their families. Must be able to interact with individuals from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds
- The ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and overnight travel (up to 25%)
- Computer skills and experience for Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, and Admissions Management Systems
- Ability to manage a travel and recruitment budget
- Proficient in planning, problem-solving, organization, and project management tasks
- Ability to foster an inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration with peers, departmental staff, faculty, students, etc.
- A desire to continuously improve professional competency and participation in professional development opportunities
- Must exercise and demonstrate the use of sound judgement, diplomacy, maintain confidentiality, and represent the University with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Possess initiative and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
