Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant I provides administrative support for the operations of unit. Performs routine and well documented administrative tasks. Acts as office liaison/receptionist. Receives and routes phone calls, emails, and/or guests. Maintains files and enters data. Operates standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
Additional Department Summary: Coordinates front office operations alongside other Administrative Assistant Is, under the direct supervision of the Administrative Specialist. Manages phone lines. Schedules appointments. Checks-in student clients. Manages aspects of therapist schedules. Provides other customer service activities. Provides support to Case Manager in handling administrative duties of that position as assigned. Provides a professional, pleasant, and welcoming first point of contact for clients. Remains calm but firm and follow established procedures when clients are often in acute distress during their first contact. Observes appropriate professional boundaries and operate the administrative area in an orderly fashion. Completes required training and promotes a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED or higher.
Skills and Knowledge: Solid computer skills (transcription, word processing, database, publishing, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage clients who are demanding or threatening until a counselor intervenes. Knowledge of office equipment. Working knowledge of center procedures and decision trees. Demonstrated commitment to supporting all students.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in medical or mental health care agencies.
