Position Summary: The Accounting Specialist / Data Analyst plays a key role in ensuring data accuracy and integrity across donor, membership, and organizational databases to support informed decision-making. Responsibilities include maintaining and managing data systems, analyzing trends, and generating actionable reports that align with organizational goals. This role also involves optimizing data collection processes, developing procedural documentation, and providing technical support for donor and member management software to enhance consistency and efficiency. Job Responsibilities: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of donor and membership data across the master databases. Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to leadership. Generate detailed and custom reports using tools such as Club Automation, e-Tapestry, and Power BI to support strategic planning. Identify and resolve data discrepancies, maintaining high standards of data security and confidentiality. Collaborate with leadership to align data analytics with organizational goals. Implement new data collection methods, optimize operational processes, and maintain clear procedural documentation. Perform regular updates to databases, including address verifications, data cleanup, and monthly reviews of member status changes. Assist with database customization and ensure system functionality aligns with organizational needs during software updates. Support donor and member communications by creating targeted mailing lists, conducting mail merges, and preparing acknowledgment letters. Manage accounting-related tasks, including accounts receivable, daily cash sheets, and reconciliations. Process donations, compile Monthly Measures and Metrics reports, and manage program-specific reporting (e.g., Silver Sneakers, One Pass, Silver & Fit, etc.). Requirements/Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Proven experience ensuring data accuracy and managing master data sets (donor and membership databases preferred). Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau). Proficiency in interpreting data trends and generating actionable insights for leadership. Ability to create detailed and tailored reports for various stakeholders. High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data security and confidentiality. Excellent collaboration skills to support organizational goals through data-driven strategies. Knowledge of accounting practices, including accounts receivable and reconciliation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills for delivering concise, actionable reports.
