Job Summary
The Combat Medic plays a crucial role in providing emergency medical care in high-pressure environments. This position requires a dedicated individual with extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as hands-on experience in various medical settings. The Combat Medic is responsible for delivering patient care, performing physical examinations, and administering medical interventions to ensure the health and safety of individuals in combat situations.
Responsibilities
Provide immediate medical attention to injured personnel in combat and training environments.
Conduct thorough physical examinations to assess the condition of patients.
Administer injections and other necessary medications as per established protocols.
Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Transport patients safely to appropriate medical facilities, including Level II Trauma Centers when necessary.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments provided.
Utilize knowledge of critical care transport and urgent care practices to deliver effective medical interventions.
Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are operational and ready for use during missions.
Skills
Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, with the ability to apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Experience working in emergency rooms (ER) or critical care settings is highly desirable.
Proficiency in patient care techniques, including the administration of injections and management of durable medical equipment (DME).
Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining composure and professionalism.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and other healthcare professionals.
Familiarity with urgent care practices and protocols related to trauma response.
