Yard and Transport Supervisor Required – Derry/Londonderry Branch
Mc Mahons Builders Providers have been providing quality building supplies and DIY materials to the trade and public for over 190 years. The group consists of a network of 12 stores, as well as a Truss Manufacturing plant and 3 Hardwood & Sheet Material branches. Mc Mahons offer a one stop shop offering, with a wide range of products catering for the Builder, DIY enthusiast and Home Owner.
The Role
Mc Mahons are now seeking applications for the position of Yard and Transport Supervisor for their branch located in bay Road, Derry/Londonderry. The branch is a thriving builders providers branch with significant capacity to grow.
· Manage all yard staff in their daily duties
· Manage the day to day delivery activities including scheduling the daily delivery routes and loading deliveries onto the delivery vehicles
· Pick orders for next day delivery
· Keep up to date records of the lorries and forklifts on site
· Ensure all walk-around books are up to date and being maintained
· Keep company vehicles to the required standard regarding road worthiness and safety
· Keep yard and warehouses to the required standard in terms of health and safety and stock management
· Ensure deliveries leave the yard On Time and In Full and ensure the companies customer service policy is implemented by drivers and yard staff
· Report any health and safety issues regarding staff or buildings to the branch manager including near misses etc.
The Person
The following mix of experience and attributes will be required by the successful candidate:
· Knowledge and experience of building materials would be advantageous.
· Experience in a yard / warehouse environment and driving forklifts.
· A full clean driving license is required.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· A positive can-do attitude.
· Be computer literate.
