Torfaen County Borough Council is inviting applications from highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic candidates for the post of Student Environmental Health Officer.
This role provides an exciting career opportunity for those looking to earn whilst they learn, in order to become a qualified Environmental Health Officer.
The post-holder will be expected to attend and successfully complete a fully funded, part-time MSc Environmental Health course, whilst assisting in the enforcement of regulatory provisions relating to housing safety, environmental protection, food safety and hygiene, occupational health and safety, infectious disease control and other activities as required. The post will also contribute to the effective delivery of the broader functions of the Public Protection Service under guidance and supervision.
To apply for this post, candidates should hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification to meet the University of West England entry requirements. The post-holder will also be required to complete relevant training to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out the enforcement of regulatory provisions.
The role will involve working flexible hours in accordance with Council policies to meet the needs of the service.
