Job Summary
Crossroads Community Hub is a local charity seeking to expand their team with a part time Cook (8hours/week Tuesday) to support charity food provision. Guided by the Lead Chef you will batch cook, freeze and label a range of nutritious soups and meals for individuals in the community requiring our emergency food provision.
You will be a team player working with a hub assistant to provide in the region of 300 – 350 soups/meals per week for distribution to our community. The post is based at our purpose-built community facility, Ayrshire Food Hub and is funded by National Lottery Awards for All. Duties Working with a hub assistant to cook batches of food of good nutritional quality Inputting systems, procedures and record keeping that support the running of the kitchen in line with environmental health and health and safety regulations. To attend and contribute to team meetings if required. Ability to work independently, under pressure, and with limited resources when required. Person specification Essential Minimum of 2 years-experience in a similar high-paced environment All-rounder in the kitchen with experience of working independently. REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene certificate or equivalent Awareness of food labelling requirements including allergens A team player with a friendly personality Flexible and adaptable to meet changing service/dept needs. Desirable Food/Professional cookery/hospitality qualification Knowledge of the local community Why Work with us?
