Purpose of the Job
Subject teachers are responsible for maximizing the academic progress of the students, providing high teaching standards, closely working with colleagues and participating in development of the department or wellbeing of all school. Subject teachers promote a positive, purposeful and professional working atmosphere that encourages cooperation and challenge, whilst valuing the contribution that individuals make to the success of the Department.
Duties and responsibilities
Under the guidance of Principal/ Vice Principal/ Head of Secondary
1. Possess in dept knowledge of the subject and should take account of wider curriculum developments that are relevant to their work;
2. Demonstrate superior knowledge of the integration of information technology to enhance learning and teaching across curriculum areas and school levels. Possess leadership, organizational and planning skills in integrating information technology across curriculum areas and school levels.
3. Information on specific topics is accurate, up-to-date and appropriate. Appropriate examples and illustrations are used to meet the abilities and interest of the students;
4. Demonstrate knowledge of innovative application of information technology in teaching.
5. Effectively and consistently plan lessons and lesson sequences to meet the unique learning requirements of all students, including those with special educational needs and gifted or talented students. The strategies outlined in IEPs (Individual Education Plans) and IBPs (Individual Behavior Plans) should be understood by them and properly taken into consideration;
6. Ensure that students are present for every class and follow up on absences as needed; Consistently and effectively use a range of appropriate strategies for teaching and classroom management;
7. Use prior learning data consistently and effectively to establish realistic expectations for students, track their progress, and provide them with constructive criticism;
8. Be able to make use of the performance data available in the school in order to determine how much progress students are making;
9. Always improve teaching methods and innovate to achieve students’ progress. Encourage and support those who feel threatened by information technology;
10. Plan and prepare courses and lessons.
11. Use and develop the application of I.C.T. in your curriculum area;
12. Assist Curriculum Coordinators, Team Leaders and teachers to integrate the application of information technology into curriculum, and to develop curriculum-based activities that incorporate the appropriate use of information technology;
13. Motivate and encourage all students to perform to their highest potential;
14. Provide or contribute to, oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students and groups of students.
15. Set and maintain high expectations for student behavior;
16. Attend and undertake key role at the parents’ meetings and open evenings;
17. Communicate effectively with the parents of students as appropriate;
18. Support the development of the school overall and contribute to the school improvement plan;
19. Assess the students’ attainment, record and maintain accurate students’ evaluation and progresses ‘records;
20. Mark, grade and give written/verbal and diagnostic feedback as required.
21. Prepare and update subject materials;
22. Use a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning appropriate to
student needs and demands of the syllabus;
23. Ensure that the assignments given to the students are appropriate for their abilities and areas of interest;
24. Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate;
25. Assist Line Manager, Curriculum Coordinator, to ensure that the curriculum area provides a range of teaching which complements the school’s strategic objectives;
26. Engage actively in the Appraisal Review process; Accept outlined areas of improvement;
27. Work as a member of a designated team and contribute positively to effective working relations within the school;
28. Contribute to the process of the ordering and allocation of equipment, materials and resources.
29. Cooperate with other staff to ensure a sharing and effective usage of resources to the benefit of the School, Faculty and the students.
30. Alert the appropriate staff about the problems experienced by students and make recommendations as to how these may be resolved. Seek an advice from the staff from the appropriate staff member for an assistance.
27. Success in conducting information technology professional development programs at the division or school level, which focused on the application of technology to support the learning and teaching
Other responsibilities
Under the guidance of Principal/ Vice Principal/ Secondary Head
  • All staff are required to manage effective personal development as part of the RSAD’s commitment to invest in staff as the key resource in the organization
  • Each individual must ensure that they meet their statutory responsibilities and RSAD policies with regard to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and other relevant legislation.
  • Any other appropriate duties as allocated by the Head of Secondary.
  • To promote and adhere to the RSAD Vision and Values.
Requirements
Essential:
University degree in the subject or a related subject (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized and accredited educational institution) and additional qualification (such as Diploma, teaching qualification), and all certificates and qualifications must be duly notarized and attested) and a minimum of two years of teaching experience.
Or;
University degree in another subject (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized and accredited educational institution) and additional qualification (such as Diploma), and all certificates and qualifications must be duly notarized and attested), and an accredited and recognized teaching certificate or license, and a minimum of two years of experience in teaching the subject.
Priority is given to a teacher that has the following:
· Native English Speakers.
· Minimum IELTS Academic score of six or equivalent for non-native English, preferably Russian speakers and those who have completed their education in a language other than English.
Excellent knowledge and skills in ICT:
· Operate computers and use basic software for word processing, spreadsheets, email, etc.
·Evaluate and use computers and related ICT tools for instruction;
· High knowledge of Robotics and Phyton, other coding;
· Apply current instructional principles, research, and appropriate assessment practices to the use of ICTs;
· Evaluate educational software;
· Create effective computer-based presentations;
· Search the Internet for resources;
· Integrate ICT tools into student activities across the curriculum;
· Create multimedia content to support instruction;
· Create hypertext documents to support instruction;
· Demonstrate knowledge of ethics and equity issues related to technology and;
· Keep up-to-date as far as educational technology is concerned.
The Teacher should be able to:
· Promote the school’s aims positively, and use effective strategies to monitor motivation and morale;
· Develop good personal relationships within a team;
· Establish and develop close relationships with parents and the community;
· Communicate effectively (both written and verbal) to a variety of audiences;
· Create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment;
· Use ICT with confidence to develop aspects of the curriculum;
· Contribute to the schools Extra Curricular Programme;
· Develop strategies for creating community links;
· Have experience with an Interactive Whiteboard;
Teacher should be:
· Approachable;
· Committed;
· Able to motivate self and others / Enthusiastic;
· Calm under pressure;
· Well-organized;
· Sense of humor;
Other RESPONSIBILITIES:
