Credit Controller

The Credit Controller will manage and oversee the credit control process for trading accounts within the food industry. This role is crucial in maintaining healthy cash flow, minimizing bad debts, and ensuring timely collections from clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit control, excellent negotiation skills, and experience in the food sector.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor trading accounts, ensuring all credit limits and terms are adhered to.
  • Review and assess customer creditworthiness, adjusting credit limits and terms as needed.
  • Conduct credit checks and ongoing risk assessments for new and existing clients.
  • Oversee the invoicing process to ensure accurate and timely billing of clients.
  • Develop and implement strategies for effective debt collection, including regular follow-ups on overdue invoices.
  • Resolve payment disputes and discrepancies efficiently, working closely with clients and internal teams.
  • Prepare regular reports on account aging, outstanding debts, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities and communications with clients.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve credit control processes and reduce financial risks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their accounts, payment terms, and any issues or changes.
  • Ensure all credit control practices comply with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Update and maintain credit control policies and procedures as needed.
  • Work closely with the sales and finance teams to align credit control practices with overall business goals.
  • Participate in regular meetings to discuss account status, credit risk, and potential issues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller or similar role, preferably within the food industry.
  • Strong understanding of credit control procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,500.00 per month
