Business Development Officer

JOB PURPOSE:
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for handling the data mining of sales prospects and supporting the sales team in successfully closing leads.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Business Development Officer will:

  • Collect details of potential customers using various techniques such as CRM systems, emails, enquiry calls, connecting through social media, using sales tools, etc.
  • Make cold calls, follow-ups, and generate leads for conversion to sales.
  • Maintain and regularly update the database to generate new leads and opportunities.
  • Handle customer communication on sales enquiries, status follow-ups, and fixing appointments.
  • Serve as back-office support for the on-site sales team, coordinating with various departments to meet the needs of the sales team.
  • Lead and coordinate the company’s participation in relevant trade fairs and conferences.
  • Ensure the sales modules in ERP are regularly updated without errors and follow up with the sales team to ensure members are updating the system correctly.
  • Create leads in the ERP system based on enquiries and follow up with customers for successful conversion.
  • Assign leads to sales engineers for customer visits and ensure that leads are converted to sales.
  • Prepare sales reports for review as per management requirements.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the line manager or senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  • Diploma/Graduate in a relevant field with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to clearly convey technical information and build relationships with customers.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to stay updated with industry advancements, new technologies, and ongoing product training.
  • Proven ability to maintain punctuality and reliability in executing job responsibilities.
  • Strong command of English is required.
