As a Materials Engineer, you will have expertise in surface finishes material to join our Material Science and Engineering team. As a Surface Finishing Engineer, you will be a key member of a fast-paced, global, and multidisciplinary team. You will utilize your creativity and diverse engineering background to research, develop, and evaluate innovative surface finishing techniques for groundbreaking product experiences. You will collaborate with Industrial Design, Product Design, Product Integrity, Operations, manufacturing partners, and external vendors. You will analyze and prototype innovative concepts, ensuring their feasibility and successful implementation in manufacturing. Your expertise in surface finishing will be essential in mitigating risks, preventing failures, and enhancing the performance and aesthetics of products reliant on these finishes.

Responsibilities
- Create and develop surface finishes and decoration roadmap that enables future design and product development, in close cooperation with Industrial designers, Product designers, Operations and Reliability teams on material qualification and pass product level testing.
- Engage with global materials suppliers on multiple projects at once, ensure material Design of Experiments (DOEs) are carried out, analyze test results, and help select the best material for an application.
- Lead the development of new surface finishes and treatment that mitigate risks and enhance the performance of systems that rely on these materials.
- Travel to provide on-site support for project trials and builds.
