About this team
The lululemon Liaison Office (LLO) team is dedicated to ensuring our products are produced of the highest quality, delivered when needed, and manufactured with partners who share our commitment to elevating the world. Not only do we manage the production of great products, but we also build great relationships.
A day in the life:
- Reporting to the Senior Manager of Raw Material Process Excellence at Taiwan LLO, the Senior Raw Materials Engineer will serve as the textile manufacturing expert for lululemon's global production and raw material sourcing
- Provide guidance to Raw Materials vendors (fabrics and trims) on how to establish process standards through Raw Materials engineering
- Implement robust process SOPs for calculating fabric/trims process losses and ensure consistency and transparency in raw materials costing
- Develop and maintain "should be" process standards and ensure our vendors operate on best-in-class standards
- Work with the Global Raw Materials production/sourcing strategy team and analyse raw materials and components for new processes and production technologies to support Raw Materials development and sourcing on costing
- Continuously identify and evaluate improvement opportunities on Raw Materials standards and work with fabric & trims vendors to establish best-in-class standards through Raw Materials engineering
- Be in the vendor kitchen regularly and work on continuous improvements around manufacturing processes
- Track and evaluate industry trends, machinery processes, and new technologies to drive the best processes for fabrics and trims
- Ensure improvements are sustained by introducing work instructions, quality standards, and performance measurement
- Identify, conceptualise, and conduct feasibility studies of various projects to determine the value of potential opportunities to the lululemon business and implement the same in the supply base
- Track all data of efficiency improvement initiatives and update cross-functional partners on all initiatives
- This role will be based in Taipei and will require domestic and international travel
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in textile engineering or equivalent is preferred
- 8+ years of experience working closely with offshore fabric and trim manufacturers, building and maintaining solid relationships with them
- An expert textile engineer, preferably in apparel fabric manufacturing, with a clear understanding of RM processes and standards
- A multi-task master, handling multiple projects with various cross-functional partners.
- Good project management skills are a must-have
- Confident in your strengths, open to challenges, and value effective communication and collaboration
- Proficient in Excel and Power Point, as well as fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese
