Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Trackless Miner to assist the Mine Manager (appointed under Section 3(1) of the Mine Health and Safety Act, MHSA) in the effective management and operation of designated areas of the mine. This role requires ensuring compliance with the MHSA, relevant regulations, and the Minerals Act.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the Mine Manager in fulfilling duties and responsibilities within your designated area of the mine.
2. Oversee daily management and operational activities while ensuring compliance with MHSA and Minerals Act regulations.
3. Ensure all employees under your charge are well-informed and compliant with safety regulations.
4. Enforce safety codes of practice, procedures, and directives issued by the mine or the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE).
5. Maintain discipline, provide training, and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
6. Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control measures to prevent exposure to safety risks.
7. Oversee all drilling, blasting, support, cleaning, and safety measures within your work area.
8. Report any breaches of the MHSA, regulations, or instructions related to mining operations.
Requirements:
- High School (Matric) (Preferred)
- 3 years of experience in trackless/underground mining (Required)
- 1 year of experience in long hole drilling (Preferred)
- Clear medical certificate (Required)- Underground Blasting Certificate (Required)
- EB driver’s licence (Required)
Additional Details:
Candidates should be able to reliably commute to or be willing to relocate to Northern Cape, Northern Cape before starting work.
