JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor and control the CRP plant from the control room SCADA and ensure that the plant is running efficiently by physically checking the plant parameters such as by: Transferring:
Transfer material by means of a belt conveyor throughout the screening process, for material sizing required for chromite production
Transfer slurry by means of a positive displacement pump and centrifugal pumps from one section to the next as per process flow diagram
Control the water reticulation throughout the metallurgical process
Control feed rate into both the crusher and jig plant by means of a feeder
Separating:
Separate material by means of a cyclone, ensure that water is recovered through the thickening process
Separate material by means of a vibrating sizing screen
Ensure that the thickener is working correctly, only ultra-fines and water reporting to the thickener and checking all cyclones for any deviations
Measure and make-up a flocculant solution according to the required concentrations in a metallurgical plant
Separate material by means of a magnetic separator, ensuring no losses of metal to tailings
Separate material by means of spirals, ensure piping, feed rate and spiral cutters are set optimally for fines production of less than 3% slag.
Separate material by means of a jig, classification and ensure product produced on jigs has less than 3% slag
De-water material by means of a de-watering screen, capturing water back for re-use in plant operations
Classify material by means of a mechanical classifier, removing slag and ensuring that the product is on-spec
Unblocking of Pumps/Crushers/Cyclones and pipelines
Cleaning of any spillages in the plant area
Low Level Maintenance:
Maintain screen panels on scheduled maintenance
Maintain jig components, replacing pocket valves and pinch valves
Maintain cyclone components such as spigot, vortex finders and piping
Replacement of Pipes on spiral plants, directional to launchers as per metallurgical process flow diagram
Reporting:
Update the CRP Log sheets on the MES system
