As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to maintain and service generators and other mechanical equipment crucial to our clients’ operations. Role Overview: As a Mechanical Technician at Hera Group, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of generators and various mechanical hardware. Your role is essential to ensuring our clients' equipment runs efficiently and reliably, reducing downtime and enhancing performance. This position requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills and hands-on experience with mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on generators and other mechanical hardware.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs to ensure systems operate effectively.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in engines, motors, and other mechanical equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and service reports.
Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations during maintenance work.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to provide expert advice on mechanical equipment performance and maintenance strategies.
Perform emergency repairs when necessary, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
Order and install replacement parts for mechanical equipment as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician, specifically with generators and mechanical hardware.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, engines, and maintenance procedures.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to mechanical equipment maintenance.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Familiarity with mechanical equipment and practices in African markets is a plus.
