Purpose of the Job Senwes is looking for a Mechanical Artisan (Fitter) responsible to perform all mechanical maintenance and repairs on all grain silo plant components and all other related grain handling machinery to ensure maximum operational efficiency and availability of the facility and to comply to the Occupational Health and safety act and regulations. Responsibilities: Maintenance, Installation, and Construction
Perform planned, reactive, and scheduled maintenance duties on all silo plant machinery, equipment, and components.
Tasks include:
Alignment and adjustment of rotating equipment (belt conveyors, bucket elevators, chain conveyors, and augers).
Repair, replacement, and maintenance of drive units (gearboxes, fluid drives, pulleys, and sprockets).
Maintenance of grain cleaning/screening machines, grain dryers, and air compressors.
Repair and maintenance of hydraulic lifting machinery and worn machine housings.
Manufacture and installation of new walkway structures for safe machinery access.
Utilize specialized rigging equipment for maintenance and installation.
Conduct mechanical inspections to ensure operational efficiency and availability.
Plan, schedule, and organize work, coordinating with other parties as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, company policies, and statutory requirements.
Troubleshooting and Repair
Resolve equipment malfunctions and conduct tests to identify issues.
Provide urgent responses to breakdowns and adhere to safety regulations.
Provide technical advice and solutions for maintenance issues.
Upgrade, maintain, and replace assets as needed.
Assist in implementing maintenance procedures and coordinating resources.
Employee Management
Mentor and supervise artisan assistants.
Provide on-the-job training and support.
Requirements:
National Senior Certificate
N3 in Engineering studies
Trade Certificate in Maintenance Fitting
Canidates with relevant technical qualifications and experience in maintenance of industrial machinery, preferably in grain handling or similar sectors will receive preference.
Technical expertise in grain handling machinery.
Knowledge of industry hazards and OSH regulations.
Proficiency in welding, cutting, grinding, and fitting.
Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and time management.
Basic rigging experience.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
