Assistant Financial Controller - Franschhoek
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Financial Controller to join our team.
Duties:
Duties:
- Assist in development and implementation of internal controls relative to accounting entities
- Assists in the coordination of information to external auditors for annual audit processes
- Electronic file maintenance for proper audit documentation
- Ensure that all internal control procedures are strictly adhered to and communicate any perceived weakness to the Director, Financial Controller
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy
- Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles
- Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records
- Learn how to use our company IT tools
- Prepare, reconcile and monitor customer reconciliations
- Prepare, reconcile and monitor diesel reconciliations
- Processing of bank reconciliation and petty cash
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support Financial Controller with Business Controllership Framework - ensure financial data integrity
- To monitor, supervise and prepare month-end income statement and balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis
- Working with the financial team to create internal controls and policies
- Background in the wine industry will be advantageous
- SARS Excise background will be advantageous
- Degree in Finance
