Job Summary: We are looking for a highly organized and experienced Procurement Engineer to manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for water infrastructure and electromechanical projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all project requirements are met on time, within budget, and according to the necessary specifications. Key Responsibilities:
Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for water and sewage infrastructure projects, including electromechanical systems for STP and water treatment plants.
Evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with project requirements and budget limitations.
Review technical specifications and collaborate with the technical office, project managers, and engineers to ensure procurement aligns with project needs.
Track and manage inventory levels, lead times, and delivery schedules to avoid delays in project execution.
Monitor market trends, research new products and suppliers, and ensure that materials and equipment comply with industry standards and regulations.
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
Resolve procurement-related issues, including delays, supply shortages, or quality discrepancies, in coordination with suppliers and project teams.
Participate in cost analysis and budgeting to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and forecasts to assist with project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the water infrastructure or construction sectors.
Strong knowledge of materials, equipment, and suppliers related to water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, and electromechanical works.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and local procurement practices.
