Purpose:
Lead strategic System activities related to Advanced Process Control
Assess Supervisory system performance related to Process area.
Derive Life cycle management.
Provide process & operational optimization support and expertise to Production department.
Interact with external vendors, technology suppliers for system & application update.
Provide necessary support to implement best practices for maximum utilization.
Key Accountabilities:
Analyze process control performance to identify stability opportunities
Monthly Routine Process control system m/c monitoring and healthiness audit (Hardware & software healthiness).
Review system life cycle and recommend timely corrections to keep systems updated. Suggest & develop ideas related to modifications, improvement, enhancement, expansion Support in maintaining process control performance and recommend changes to existing control schemes if necessary
Monitoring and study of plant control loops, alarm rationalization for optimization and improvement
APC tuning remodeling for new grades and catalysts requirement, process changes
Alarm management rationalization studies
Report process control performance to plant owner
Monthly unit performance report- Critical process monitoring and KPI monitoring for all related systems
Identify APC opportunities and persuade the owner to go for them
Benchmarking with other affiliates and outside affiliates
Capture value from process unit operations by pushing them to operate closure to their constrains
Continuous improvement in process variability to push controllers to limit
Leading for process optimization
Maintain stable operation by stabilizing the process control loops performance, in-house and by initiating projects With support of loop tuning software’s plan the tuning of control loops
Requirements:
B.S Degree in Process/chemical Engineering / Electrical / Electronics / or equivalent
Minimum 8 years’ experience
Competencies/skills:
Process Control knowledge
Chemical plant process knowledge
Basic knowledge of unit operations, maintenance practices, policies and procedures
Familiarity with International standards, codes and regulations.
Awareness of SABIC SHEMS.
Computer literate and hands on experience in applicable software .
Analytical & communication skills.
Work Availability Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Monday – Friday)] during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
