Job Purpose: To Monitor process safety deviations and report the findings on spot , To developing Safe Operating Limits & assure the operating compliance , facilitate the process risk assessments and help develop safety operating practices to support plant operations, provide technical leadership and support to identify hazards, assess risks and provide cost efficient management solutions. Key Accountabilities:
Lead and monitors HAZOP / Risk assessment studies and track implementation of recommendations.
Ensuring Process Safety Principles and best practices are implemented early in the design phase of MOC package review.
Lead & Participate in Process Safety Incidents Investigations, Carry out risk assessment on regular basis and track implementation of recommendations
Develop regular process safety audit plan for Ibn Zahr site.
Lead & participate during Process Safety audit.
Improve process safety culture and knowledge level across company.
Providing consultation on process safety standards and systems as well as coaching and supporting relevant departments in risk analysis techniques.
Communicate with Insurance Auditors, Interact with SABIC PRM & EHSS global.
Suggest best practices adopted by other companies to improve process safety performance.
Track all Leading indicators, actions and projects related to Process safety, maintain records and periodical reports.
Requirements:
B.S Degree in chemical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 8 years’ experience.
Competencies/skills:
Through knowledge & hands on experience on HAZARD and Risk Assessment tools (e.g. HAZOP HAZID,FMCA)
Basic understanding of LOPA methodology, Process Design & Process Control philosophy, Calculation of release quantities from leaks
Familiarity with International Process Safety standards, codes and regulations ( APl-7S4/753/752/520/521,IEC61S08)
Knowledge of SABIC SH EMS, Flare system, IPF classification & SIL studies, mechanical design & overpressure protection
Computer literate and hands on experience in operation and process Engineering
Work Availability Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Monday – Friday)] during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
