Solve standard incidents for LINUX-Server (SLES, Red Hat, Cent OS)
Scope:
As part of the Unix Team to perform various system administration and support tasks including but not limited to:
Analyzing and debugging system, services, communication, and network-dependent processes
Monitoring system status with respect to memory, CPU, and storage utilization
Support LINUX patching as part of our established process for a smooth implementation
Analyze, log, archive, track, prioritize and resolve both common and complex system matters (i.e., problems and issues) in a timely manner and escalate when necessary
Ensure all open tickets are attended to and closed according to agreed service levels and prescribed standard processes and ensure that clients are kept well informed of the progress made on outstanding tickets with issues
Recommend permanent and temporary solutions and next course of action to resolve problems and issues. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and document RCA-based corrective action
Develop and maintain documentation related to the installation, administration and maintenance of the servers, systems, and services
Work closely with team members and associated companies in other regions to resolve support issues
Requirements:
Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience
Have basic-to-intermediate understanding and/or experience with:
Familiar with Service Management tools (Ticketing and Monitoring)
Operational Support Systems such as Streamworks and/or KARO3
Clustering technologies
Virtualization technologies like those from VMware, Hyper V and Cisco UCS Bladecenter
SAN Storage
Git knowhow - gitlab / bitbucket tools
Experience with one of following configuration management tools: ansible / puppet / chef
Nice to have: at least one scripting language - bash / perl / python
Nice to have: system monitoring tools: zabbix / nagios
Certifications like LPIC, RHCSA or LFCS are an added advantage
Must be familiar with operation support on a global scale. Knowledge of information security and ITIL processes is preferable
German language skills could represent an advantage
Flexible and willing to work in dynamic environment with client-driven projects and run-and-maintain business operations. Candidates are expected to communicate and collaborate with clients and colleagues in EU, North America and/or Asia-Pacific regularly
Have solid analytical, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
Independent, self-disciplined, self-organized, and able to learn and work under/with minimum supervision
