GENERAL TECHNICIAN (SYSTEM SUPPORT)
Primary purpose of job
To assist the Business Systems Analyst in providing day to day support of SAP and other system within Materials
Department. The majority of the support is to Materials department personnel (in excess of 300) but it also covers support
of users in other departments across the corporation.
PC hardware
Minimum 8 years of experience. Must have excellent communication and training skills.
Diploma or degree in Information Management or Business-related fields.

Department. The majority of the support is to Materials department personnel (in excess of 300) but it also covers support
of users in other departments across the corporation.
- Ability to resolve operational system problems reported by the end user.
- To monitor data quality and report errors and inconsistencies
PC hardware
- PC software support and training Network support
- Lotus Notes support and training Intranet support
- SAP support and training Materials database systems
- To provide ad-hoc system reports and data downloads/uploads.
Minimum 8 years of experience. Must have excellent communication and training skills.
- An extensive working knowledge of the following is required for this role:
- SAP Materials Module.
- Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Access. (Minimum 5 years)
- Lotus Notes.
- Competent with IT Infrastructure (Desktop HM/ & S/W problems, Network).
- Web designer
- A good understanding of the Supply Chain processes is required.
- Certification in SAP, MCP, and CCNA is an advantage.
- Good interpersonal skills and good communication skills are required to provide the support, training and produce
Diploma or degree in Information Management or Business-related fields.
