The Commis will prepare meal ingredients for the Chef de Partie and assist with various kitchen duties. The Commis responsibilities include informing the supervisor of malfunctioning or broken kitchen equipment, unpacking stock deliveries and organizing food items in the appropriate storage to prevent spoilage. Your duties will consist of but will not be limited to: 1. Accurately measuring meal ingredients for the Chef de Partie. 2. Preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning of different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits. 3. Preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Chef de Partie. 4. Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality. 5. Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted supplies. 6. Discarding all expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers. 7. Plating and presenting meal items as per the instructions of the Chef de Partie. 8. Recycle whatever is possible, enforce cost-saving measures to control food stock and food cost. 9. Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in all areas of the kitchen. 10. Nurture friendly relationship with customers to increase loyalty and boost the restaurants’ reputation. 11. Assist and participate in maintaining requirements for wastage and cost control. 12. Awareness of the requirements issued by the Ministry of Public Health when preparing and delivering foods. 13. Ensure compliance with the restaurants’ security, health, and safety in accordance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations in Qatar. 14. Ensure to follow Qatar shelf-life standards. 15. Maintain a courteous attitude when communicating with co-workers or subordinates. Skills: · Exceptional level of cooking prowess. · Strong knowledge in food preparation, presentation and preservation knowledge is an essential. · Positively spirited and passionate about food. · Ability to handle multiple tasks at once. · Availability to work within opening hours (including weekends and holidays). · Ability to communicate well in English. · Excellent organizational and time management skills. · Committed to work with the service team to deliver an amazing guest experience. Qualifications:
· Must have a proven work experience in Fine Dining Restaurants.
· Must be locally available in Qatar.
· Must have a valid QID and NOC and can join immediately.
