We are seeking a motivated and skilled Commis Chef with a specialization in sushi to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Commis Chef, you will work closely with our Sushi Chef and kitchen staff to prepare high-quality sushi dishes, ensuring every plate meets our high standards for freshness, taste, and presentation. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and presentation of sushi dishes according to our restaurant’s recipes and standards.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Support the Sushi Chef with the preparation of ingredients, including fish, vegetables, and rice.
Ensure the proper storage and handling of all ingredients, following FIFO principles.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service.
Continuously learn and develop skills in sushi preparation and presentation.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a sushi kitchen or similar role is highly preferred.
Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including slicing fish and rolling sushi.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
