Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures for construction sites in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and evaluate construction site health and safety risks and hazards, and take corrective action as required.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to identify potential hazards and risks, and develop and implement plans to address these risks.
Provide training and education to employees and subcontractors on health and safety policies, procedures and practices.
Develop and maintain safety and emergency response plans and procedures specific to construction sites.
Investigate accidents and incidents, and make recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
Liaise with external health and safety regulatory agencies as required.
Develop and maintain records and reports on health and safety performance and compliance for construction sites.
Ensure that all employees and subcontractors are aware of their responsibilities regarding health and safety on construction sites.
Provide support and advice to project managers and supervisors on health and safety matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field.
At least five years of experience in occupational health and safety management on construction sites.
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to health and safety in the construction industry.
Strong analytical skills to identify hazards and risks, and develop and implement corrective measures specific to construction sites.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, subcontractors, and external regulatory agencies.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Certification in occupational health and safety and/or construction safety is preferred.
