Receiving Associate
Job Summary: The Receiving Associate is responsible for managing the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming shipments. This role involves verifying product quantities, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The Receiving Associate plays a critical role in ensuring that goods are processed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the warehouse or store.

- Receiving and Inspection:
- Unload and inspect incoming shipments to verify quantities and quality of goods.
- Compare packing slips with purchase orders to ensure that all items are received and accounted for.
- Identify and report any damaged or defective items to the appropriate parties.
- Documentation and Data Entry:
- Record details of received goods into the inventory management system or database.
- Generate and maintain receiving reports, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Update inventory records and communicate any discrepancies to the warehouse manager.
- Inventory Management:
- Organize and store received goods in designated areas according to company procedures.
- Ensure that products are properly labeled and stored to facilitate easy retrieval and minimize loss.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and stock replenishment as needed.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors to resolve any issues related to shipments or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other warehouse or store staff to ensure efficient handling and distribution of goods.
- Provide support to other departments as needed to facilitate smooth operations.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies related to handling and storing goods.
- Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and perishable items.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area to promote a safe work environment.
- Customer Service:
- Assist in processing returns and exchanges as required.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to received goods in a timely manner.
