Job Summary: The Non-Food Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the non-food merchandise department within a retail or supply chain environment. This role involves managing inventory, ensuring the proper presentation of products, and supervising a team to achieve departmental goals. The Non-Food Supervisor ensures that non-food items meet customer expectations, adhere to company standards, and contribute to the overall success of the store or supply chain operation.
Key Responsibilities:

• Team Management:
• Supervise, train, and motivate a team of staff members in the non-food department.
• Schedule shifts, manage workloads, and conduct performance reviews.
• Foster a positive work environment and address any team-related issues.
• Inventory Management:
• Oversee the ordering, receiving, and stocking of non-food merchandise.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock to meet customer demand.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage and manage stock discrepancies.
• Merchandise Presentation:
• Ensure that non-food products are displayed according to company standards and visual merchandising guidelines.
• Plan and execute product promotions and seasonal displays.
• Regularly assess and adjust product placement to enhance customer experience and sales performance.
• Customer Service:
• Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries or concerns related to non-food items.
• Train staff on customer service best practices and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Sales and Performance:
• Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Analyze sales data and provide reports on trends, performance, and recommendations for enhancements.
• Work with management to develop strategies to increase sales and meet departmental targets.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure that all non-food items are compliant with safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Address and resolve any safety or compliance issues promptly.
• Administrative Duties:
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and staff performance.
• Prepare and submit reports as required by management.
• Handle administrative tasks such as ordering supplies and managing budgets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in retail or supply chain management, with at least 2-4 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of non-food product categories and inventory management practices.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze sales data and make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point).
