The Role

We are looking for a passionate and seasoned business development professional who will be responsible for driving Onafriq’s growth within the MTO (Money Transfer Organizations) segment primarily. The ideal candidate should have at least 8 to 10 years of sales/business development experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in nurturing and growing partnerships within the payments or remittance industry. He/she will be working in a fast-paced environment, and will need to be result-oriented.
The role requires for the candidate to be experienced in liaising with C-level clients and internal stakeholders and to be able to build lasting relationships both internally and externally.
The position will report to the Managing Director - Rest of World, and the candidate is expected to be based in the UK (preferred) or continental Europe.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with key decision-makers across Onafriq’s top MTO partners to further Onafriq’s strategic goals.
  • Build, manage, and close a sales pipeline of top-tier MTO opportunities.
  • Oversee the sales process from lead development to contracting to onboarding to account growth.
  • Work closely with MTO partners to fulfil their strategy, grow their payout network, and ultimately grow their business by helping them expand to new regions.
  • Act as the client’s advocate within Onafriq and work with internal teams (e.g. Compliance, Finance, Operations, Product, Marketing) on partner needs, and future enhancements and to solve any issues that arise.
  • Bring together multi-functional teams across the business to solve problems.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director - Rest of World to develop and execute account plans and strategies.
  • Achieve account and company revenue targets.

Qualifications and Experience
  • A relevant qualification in Commerce, Finance, Business Management, Communications, Law, or any other relevant field
  • At least 8 years of experience, with 5 years in the payments and/or remittance industry
  • Experience working with a dispersed global team
  • Pan-African exposure, experience and expertise are a plus
  • Experience working with Global Merchants is a plus
