The purpose of Mechanical Supervisor is to direct and coordinate activities of vendors and workers engaged in repair, maintenance, installation of machines, tools, equipment, buildings, grounds, and utility systems of mill, industrial plant, or other establishment by performing role duties and assigning maintenance related tasks to the junior team members. Job Responsibilities:
Accountable for daily job planning to facilities Management Services.
Monitoring the operation of utilities & machinery. Responsible for all equipment and facilities breakdowns, corrective actions and counter-measures
Manage maintenance work requests from production floor, determine priority and assign technicians
Managing the on-site facilities team and third party sub-contractors ensuring they complete tasks on time and safely to the required standards
Auditing & verifying the measurement sheet of external service provider vendor.
Preparing the PM planner & ensuring the 100% implementation of the same.
Preparing the AMC list of machinery & ensuring the implementation of the same.
Preparing the critical spares list to ensure that the spares are maintained and the equipment is available when required.
Ensuring the availability of consumable spares
ISO 9001, 14001/18001 (Documentation work).
Audit the activities carried out by the team members to ensure job standards are met
Carrying out the job through external service vendor and verifying its measurement.
Preparing & monitoring the mechanical annual maintenance budget
Maintain history card for the machine and execute management of change for any change proposal
Preparing the energy efficiency performance report for Air compressor, WTP etc.
Ensuring the 100% implementation of HSE safe practices. Maintain effective Health and Safety systems, including completion of risk assessments and method statements and tool box talks where appropriate
Ensure team members comply with all safety and best manufacturing practices
Conduct discussions with vendors, management, engineering and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance related issues and recommend measures to improve operations and condition/ health of machines and equipment.
Conduct meetings at the end of each shift to update incoming maintenance personnel on status of break downs, repairs, and troubleshooting done during the previous shift
Adherence to all Statutory Standards and Regulations. Prepare the data and put forward for review
Review and monitor performance of subordinates on an ongoing basis and provide requisite developmental support/ inputs
Ensure retention of key talent within the department
Develop, manage and supervise training and development needs of immediate employees to meet the departmental objectives.
Recommend training as required for subordinate development
Job Requirements:
Mechanical Engineering from a reputed college
Total experience of 8 to 10 and 3-5 years in a similar role in FMCG/ Agro Chemicals Industry
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Thorough understanding of the plant’s machinery and equipment
