A reputed and leading Interior Products Distributor is seeking Sales & Marketing Executives to target and sell products in Kenya and African region to the healthcare, hospitality, contract industry, and retail market. This position focuses on engaging with designers and consultants involved in upcoming projects. Here's a detailed description of the role:
Job Description: Sales & Marketing Executive for Interior Products
Key Responsibilities:
  • Market Research & Customer Identification:
  • Identify key stakeholders such as designers, consultants, and project managers in the healthcare, hospitality, and contract industries.
  • Stay updated on ongoing and upcoming projects to approach potential customers early in the design process.
  • Develop a comprehensive client database for the healthcare, hospitality, and retail markets.
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Building:
  • Meet with designers, architects, consultants, and decision-makers involved in large-scale interior design projects.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with new and existing clients to position the company’s products as the preferred choice.
  • Provide tailored solutions and design recommendations to meet client needs.
  • Sales & Product Presentation:
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to explain product features, benefits, and applications.
  • Prepare and present proposals, including cost estimates, specifications, and timelines, based on the client’s requirements.
  • Guide clients through product selections and help them make decisions that fit their project needs.
  • Sales Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement targeted sales and marketing strategies for the healthcare, hospitality, and retail sectors.
  • Design strategies to reach high-potential markets like hospitals, hotels, and retail chains.
  • Align sales efforts with broader company marketing campaigns to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams:
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, attend trade shows, and participate in industry events.
  • Collaborate with the product development and supply chain teams to ensure products meet market demands and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure seamless communication between sales and operations to handle customer orders, feedback, and after-sales service.
  • Sales Targets & Reporting:
  • Meet and exceed assigned sales targets for the region.
  • Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools.
  • Market Expansion:
  • Explore new opportunities in the retail sector, introducing the company’s products to home décor stores and building long-term retail partnerships.
  • Stay updated on local industry trends and competitor activity to seize emerging opportunities.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales and marketing within the interior products, building materials, or related industries.
  • Previous experience selling to the healthcare, hospitality, or contract industries in South Africa is highly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of the interior products industry, with knowledge of flooring, furniture, lighting, textiles, and other related products.
  • Familiarity with the project lifecycle in the healthcare, hospitality, and contract sectors.
  • Communication & Relationship Management:
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with key industry players.
  • Ability to present technical product information in a clear and engaging way.
  • Strong negotiation skills to close deals with high-value clients.
  • Sales Acumen:
  • Proven ability to meet sales targets and handle long sales cycles.
  • Experience using CRM tools for sales tracking and reporting.
  • Marketing Savvy:
  • Understanding of marketing techniques to position products effectively in a competitive market.
  • Ability to collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns and promotional events.
  • Educational Background:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Travel Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Kenya/UAE and African region to meet clients and attend industry events.
