Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, tracking inventory, and ensuring timely replenishment to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
Order Processing: Coordinating the processing, packing, and dispatch of company’s orders, ensuring they are accurate and completed on time.
Shipping and Receiving: Managing incoming and outgoing merchandize, verifying contents against purchase orders, and ensuring proper documentation.
Transportation Coordination: Arranging the most efficient and cost-effective transportation for goods, whether by road, air, or sea, and coordinating with carriers or delivery services.
Warehouse Management: Organizing and overseeing storage solutions, maintaining order, and optimizing space within the warehouse in cooperation with logistics team mates and warehouse personnel.
Tracking Shipments: Using tracking systems and software to monitor shipments in transit, updating branch staff or departments on the status of their deliveries.
Quality Control: Inspecting goods for quality and damage before delivery and upon receipt. Ensuring all inventory complies with company standards.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of delivery, inventory, and logistics activities, including invoices, delivery notes, and inventory logs.
Supplier Coordination: Liaising with company’s procurement team to coordinate the delivery of materials and goods, negotiating terms, and ensuring timely delivery to meet production or sales needs.
Feedback: Communicating with branch staff to address their delivery questions, resolve issues, and provide updates on order status.
Compliance and Safety: Adhering to industry regulations, company policies, especially when handling hazardous materials or controlled items.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing logistics data to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and identify potential bottlenecks. Generating reports for management.
Problem-Solving: Handling any issues or delays in the logistics process, such as delayed delivery, inventory discrepancies, or transportation issues.
Budget Management: Managing costs within the logistics department, including transportation and inventory expenses, to align with the company’s budget.
Perform all other duties as may be specified and assigned by management.
