JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT
We are looking to hire a junior accountant for an Architectural firm in Victoria Island, Lagos. Duties/Responsibilities: The junior accountant will be responsible for providing efficient and effective support to the financial department by carrying out daily accounting tasks. Responsibilities includes but not limited to: · Maintaining accounts receivable, document bills and supporting documentation. · Maintaining accounts payable, ensure timely payment of invoices, confirming validity of the debt and gathering appropriate signatures. · Updating financial records vis accounting software · Gathering payroll expenses and input into appropriate entry line · Preparing quarterly budget under the supervision of senior management. · Analyzing financial statements and prepare balance sheets. · Recording and summarizing financial transactions. · Preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets.· Assisting with accounts payable and receivable management. · Performing month-end close activities. · Assisting with audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Maintain accurate and up to date financial records. · Preparing tax returns and filings. · Assisting with payroll processing. · Communicating with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters. · Identifying and reporting any financial discrepancies and irregularities. Qualification: · BSc/ HND in Accounting or Finance from a reputable institution. ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage. · Have knowledge of accounting software. · 1-2 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a similar position. · Demonstrate high level of oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage the flow of people and business, liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders regarding sensitive and confidential matters, and maintain effective working relationships in a high-volume environment. · Demonstrate a good level of confidentiality, tact, discretion, initiative, and sound judgement. · Excellent organizational skills including the ability to determine priorities, meet regular deadlines and take/follow up action. · Demonstrated ability to contribute in a professional and collaborative way to a team.
