JOB SUMMARY Develops, manages and coordinates the technology functions of the company in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by Management and the Board of Directors. Develops and Implements technology strategy, short-term plans, and objectives in line with the overall business plans of the company to ensure effectiveness in the acquisition and deployment of the talent, physical assets, and resources of the IT function. Proactively and innovatively carry out responsibilities, while maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and ensuring adequacy of controls and security. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Strategic Planning & Execution · Develops and implements technology strategy in line with the company’s corporate and Information Technology strategic ambitions. · Leads the delivery of Information Technology initiatives/projects. · Plans and directs all technology activities. · Oversees implementation of regulatory directives relating to Information Technology. · Implements effective technology financial planning and control. · Establishes, maintains and enhances communication with all business areas to ensure achievement of business objectives. · Identifies and deploys high-return technologies to drive the company’s IT transformation plans. · Establishes technical policies which form the technical component of the business/strategic planning process. Governance & Control · Oversees the company’s Information Technology function. · Tracks, analyses, and monitors technology performance metrics. · Works with relevant stakeholders to coordinate change impact assessment and prioritizes changes to the operations environment. · Ensures the availability of IT services for end-user consumption and manage communication on major service outages/escalations/changes/upgrades to stakeholders. · Ensures optimal performance of technology infrastructure and systems. · Monitors reports and statistics to identify trends and implement corrective action(s) where applicable. · Ensures effective controls are in place for first line of defence against operational technology risks. · Ensures prompt closure of IT open audit exceptions and operational issues. · Ensures appropriate and timely escalation of operational risks/issues. · Provides insightful management reports to aid decision making. · Continuously reviews and improves technology services and processes. · Ensures prompt rendition of all statutory and management reports. IT Leadership and People Management · Provides strategic advice to the Managing Director and the Executive Committees on technology issues that impact corporate plans. · Provides guidance for the IT team and ensures regular technical training is conducted for the team. · Explains the technical policies of the business to all relevant stakeholders and ensures adherence to the technical standards. · Articulates the technological agenda in relevant staff meetings/engagements and when making hiring decisions. · Ensures that policies and practices are developed to attract and retain the right kind, number, and placement of IT staff. Other Roles · Serves as a member of the IT steering committee. · Serves as a member of the Innovation committee. · Serves as a member of the Architecture Review Board. · Servers as a Chairman of Change Advisory Board. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS: · Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferably Information Technology or Computer Science. · Masters or MBA is an added advantage. · Professional certifications are an added advantage. KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: · Demonstrated knowledge of laws, regulations, and compliance requirements governing the financial service industry. · In-depth knowledge and experience of complex IT strategy formulation. · In-depth knowledge of Project Planning and Management, project management frameworks and standards. · In-depth knowledge of internationally recognized IT governance frameworks and standards · In-depth knowledge and understanding of the strategic direction of the Nigerian Financial Services Industry · Demonstrated understanding of - Enterprise IT governance (GOVN 7),Specialist advice (TECH 6),Enterprise and business architecture (STPL 5),Portfolio management (POMG 6),Program management (PGMG 7),Systems development management (DLMG 7),IT management (ITMG 7),Service level management (SLMO 7),Supplier relationship management (SUPP 7),Quality management (QUMG 7),Emerging technology monitoring (EMRG 6),Information governance (IRMG 7),Information systems coordination (ISCO 7). WORK EXPERIENCE: · Minimum of 7 years of experience in service development or operations, with 5 years or more in a business-facing role in financial services. · Minimum of 12 years of management experience with 5 years or more in a senior management role.
