Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Chef with extensive experience in preparing intercontinental dishes from a wide range of global cuisines. This full-time, live-in position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the employer's home, where you will be responsible for creating delicious, diverse, and nutritious meals for the family, as well as managing all aspects of kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prepare meals for a variety of dietary preferences. The chef must also be flexible, reliable, and ready to start immediately. Key Responsibilities:
Meal Preparation & Cooking:
Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and occasional snacks for the family, ensuring a variety of dishes from different cuisines (e.g., Italian, French, Mediterranean, Asian, American, Middle Eastern and Nigerian).
Specialize in crafting intercontinental dishes with attention to taste, texture, and presentation. Adapt meals based on family preferences, seasonal ingredients, and any dietary restrictions
Plan and prepare meals for special occasions, private events, or guests as needed.
Menu Planning & Grocery Shopping:
Develop weekly menus in collaboration with the employer, ensuring a balanced selection of meals that cater to the tastes and dietary needs of the family.
Create shopping lists and order necessary ingredients, ensuring all items are fresh and of high quality.
Manage food storage and organize kitchen supplies to ensure optimal use of ingredients and minimal waste.
Kitchen Management & Hygiene:
Oversee kitchen operations, maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient working environment.
Ensure that all kitchen tools, appliances, and equipment are well-maintained and functioning properly.
Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times, including proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness.
Meal Presentation & Service:
Present each dish beautifully, ensuring high standards of presentation and quality.
Serve meals in a timely manner, ensuring that food is delivered at the appropriate temperature.
Assist with setting the table and clearing after meals as needed.
Dietary Requirements & Special Requests:
Be attentive to the family’s dietary restrictions, preferences, and any special dietary needs (e.g., allergies and personal preferences).
Create customized meal plans for specific family members or guests based on health needs or personal tastes.
Collaborate with Household Staff:
Work closely with other household staff (if applicable), including housekeepers or butlers, to ensure smooth coordination of meal service and any event-related needs.
Assist with meal service during family events or when hosting guests.
Inventory Management & Cost Control:
Maintain inventory control and ensure efficient use of kitchen supplies. Minimize food waste through careful planning and portion control.
Report to the employer on stock levels and propose any necessary replenishments.
Flexibility & Adaptability:
Be adaptable to the family’s changing schedule, providing meals at varying times based on the employer’s needs (including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime).
Be open to cooking for guests or hosting occasional dinners, parties, or events as needed.
