Summary
Incumbents may determine best methods and procedures to follow to complete assignments. Tasks are very complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Decisions/actions may have an impact on the departments goals and may go beyond the department. Works under minimum supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to manager or expert resource. May provide functional guidance to others performing similar work.
May be considered the expert in areas assigned.
Builds internal and external relationships that require exchanging information and providing some explanations in a problem solving capacity.

Work is performed within established professional standards and practices. Receives detailed assignments and follows established processes to meet the goals of the unit.

Interacts directly with subordinates and peer groups; engages in routine exchanges of information; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, would be monitored.

Receives a daily production schedule from planning; receives material to manufacture modify or repair products from Front End area.

Co-ordinates these inputs and a variety of resources (e.g., materials, personnel, equipment, etc.) to achieve on-time production of quality products within budget guidelines.

Identifies and resolves bottlenecks in the production process.

Management of controllable operating expenditure e.g. COGI of production and guides teams to continuously improve processes.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Minimum Education in Diploma Degree
-
4-6 years experience in manufacturing.

Knowledge of the production process and the tools and equipment used in the process.

Knowledge and understanding of the business unit and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery and the profitability of the unit (WOR/MOR/RCCP).

Ability to coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet production quality and quantity metrics

Knowledge of ISO Standards and Company Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve high production levels within tight time deadlines and in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.

Ability to use some or all of the following PC applications: Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, Powerpoint
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
- Duties of this position require occasional sustained concentration to focus on small areas, objects, computers, etc.
- Duties of this position require occasional light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space, climbing, using equipment, handling lightweight materials, etc.
- Duties of this position require occasional heavy manual effort and considerable exertion including lifting objects over 20 pounds, requiring straining, pulling and lifting.
