Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
As the Transport Corridor Coordinator, you will be the primary person responsible for providing professional and efficient services ensuring all works and events within the road reserve comply with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and good practice guides. You will review, approve, coordinate, manage, supervise, and audit those applying and actively carrying out work and/or events on the district's transport network. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to team members within the Council's Transport Team to ensure seamless service delivery, especially during high-demand periods.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Road Corridor Manager, ensuring compliance with the National Code of Practice for Utility Operators.
  • Perform duties as the Traffic Management Co-ordinator, reviewing and approving traffic management plans (TMPs).
  • Coordinate and prioritise works impacting the Road Corridor to maintain safety and efficiency.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including utility operators, neighbouring authorities, and emergency services.
  • Manage traffic management activities related to road closures and special permits.
  • Audit and inspect work sites for compliance, providing expert advice and training to stakeholders.
  • Support Council's health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives through active participation and monitoring.

You are a seasoned professional in temporary traffic management and corridor access, with a strong background in coordinating and overseeing transport networks. You excel at building positive relationships with diverse stakeholders and possess the expertise to navigate complex compliance and legislative requirements. Your attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic operations. With excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach, you are committed to upholding high standards of service while fostering a safe and effective transport environment for the community.
Ideally you'll have:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in temporary traffic management and Corridor Access Request industry.
  • Level 1 STMS A/B NP qualification (minimum) with TTM Planner, TTM Approver, and TTM Audit preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Submitica software and extensive knowledge of relevant codes of practice and guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • High attention to detail, excellent time management, and a solution-focused approach.
  • A full, clean current driver's license.
