The Opportunity: An amazing opportunity is available for a Microbiology technician to join our Christchurch Laboratory. Learn on the job and use your degree in a practical setting in the Pathogens Department As Technician, you will be responsible for:
Routine sample testing within the given turn-around-time (TAT)
Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures
Ensure all relevant records are kept up to date at all times
Use aseptic technique and maintain a clean and tidy work area
This is a Permanent role working 40 hours a week and will include one weekend day. Please be advised these opportunities may require some flexibility to work overtime as the lab is functioning 7 days a week. About you: We would love to hear from motivated individuals with a passion for food safety and quality. Ideally you will have or be:
Bachelor of Science majoring Microbiology or equivalent
Experience in q PCR technology or completed studies in this area (advantages)
Strong attention to detail
The ability to work well under pressure
Clear communications (both written and verbal)
A passion for quality customer focus is essential
