ABOUT THE ROLE
Be responsible for the coordination of outage planning activities within the Energy Network and Renewables Team based in Otara.
This role will ensure that the team achieve outage and operational objectives and will work to meet or exceed deadlines and customer needs.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, The Switching Sequence Writer will engage in outage planning, site visits, and switch writing for Power NZ clients, utilitzing client portals for Outage applications.
The main focus of the role is ensure business growth and development, and the successful candidate will be a hardworking and efficient team member who demonstrates proactive thinking throughout.
OTHER KEY DELIVERABLES INCLUDE
- Outage Scoping and Planning – reviewing, scoping, and finalizing outage plans, ensuring timely and accurate plans for projects and maintenance works.
- Financial Control - Contributing to achievement of budgets and forecast through optimal planning, scheduling, reporting, provision and utilisation of all resources; Assisting with the documentation and justification to variations of cost estimates; Assisting with justifications to be included in CAPEX business cases; Providing feedback to estimating proposals;
- Collaboration with field staff - In liaison with staff, ensuring technical procedures, work instructions, client standards, inspection and test plans and checklists are available; Providing technical planning assistance as required
- Quality Control - Participating in the development of methods to correct deficiencies identified in Quality System audits; Assisting the Operations Manager in regularly reviewing the Planning Systems and developing and implementing cost savings plans, exploring Continuous improvement opportunities ensuring integrity of data and system; Conducting regular field assessment of the implementation of plans to provide first hand feedback.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will preferably come from the tools and have experience in Switch Writing or Outage planning, allocating, and supplying resources within the Electrical Infrastructure industry.
They must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills; can interpret written English information, and have the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
Other Key skills, experience and qualifications
- Relevant tertiary education would be an advantage.
- EWRB Registration with current practising licence essential.
- WTC8 a,b,c competency holder preferred.
- Full Class 1 NZ driver’s licence
