We have got an exciting opportunity to join the Digital team here at the Ministry of Justice. Our operating model is truly customer centric and service-based, driven by the need for continuous improvement and maintenance throughout the service lifecycle. The Strategic Business Partner function acts as the conduit between the Digital Office and other parts of the Ministry at a senior stakeholder level.
You will be the advocate of the business units within your portfolio, understanding their strategies, needs, and priorities to assist the development of multi-year plans and roadmaps. Facilitating strategic conversations and planning with key stakeholders, both within your portfolio as well as the Digital Office, is something that excites you. You will thrive on bringing people together to build a strong, trusted partnership between Digital and our customers.
A key focus for the team will be to identify opportunities for efficiency gains across the ministry where technology can be an enabler. You will bring a passion for working through “the art of the possible” with your customers and to facilitate conversations that uncover how different ways of working and technology can transform the way we operate in the future.
Your will achieve this through:
A customer ethos which makes you the trusted advisor through developing and maintaining positive and cooperative relationships with key stakeholders
Working closely with senior managers in the wider Ministry to support them in the development of their business needs and plans
Strong Communication skills to ensure business units have clear and accurate expectations of how their business needs will be met and by when
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role, you will have:
A tertiary degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
Relevant industry experience in service management, business analysis, ICT Project / Portfolio Management or similar
Senior relationship and account management experience in large and complex organisations
Knowledge of a range of ICT technologies and their practical applications in supporting business requirements
Experience in providing internal consultancy and advice to guide decision making
Ability to think strategically and manage priorities and expectations to meet organisational goals
Experience in facilitating collaboration and cross functional integration
Strong communication skills
Advantageous:
Ideally you will have worked in a Business Partnering or similar role before
A sound understanding of the machinery of government
Experience in government including budget and business case processes

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $126,427 to $163,839 based on skills and experience.
